“Zeke that’s silly” Klein stopped and picked up a piece of paper, “it’s a page from, Haily’s journal it says shes in a house with a big grey curl on it” “that’s easy its right there” Zeke pointed left and Klein pointed right to another Kate though said they all have squiggles on them but they all look different. That left Klein and Zeke to stare and scratch there heads like baboons. That’s just crazy Kate could tell they were thinking, Kate watched them and took the paper and saw a fading symbol that matched the picture on the building three doors away, “this way”
in the house looked nothing like the outside, modern (for the19 century) Kate heard a scream from a back room “Klein go check on Haily get her out of that closet and meet us back here

when Haily was back they all hugged “Lets go home!” “Agreeable!” they were leaving and one little obstacle stopped them,THE DOOR WAS LOCKED! “great how do we get out NOW!” “We can climb the open roof” “any GOOD ideas?” “you have your emergency phone right?” “yeah why? I don’t know any numbers but my home and my moms not home” “Call my brother!” “ I don’t see why that would help the door is stuck from outside in inside out” “I know that but we could use as much help as we can get.” Haily picked up the phone and called in “ hello?” “Lesly, Its Haily.” “What do you need?” “ We need YOU, (or possibly a locksmith...)” “WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD A 10 YEAR OLD NEED A LOCKSMITH?” “No time for chat, just go behind the hedges in Mr Smitfield’s yard.” She hung up. They all sat down staring at the wall, Some chat, some conflict about weather a blue-jay or hedgehog were better. But than they heard talking... It was- couldn't be... It HAD to be... It was Lesly and a locksmith! “HELP US!!” Zeke shouted “Sir, Has it occurred to you, That this building doesn't have a lock?” “No” “You realize I charge by the hour, 20 dollars an hour, and all that time we spent figuring out what house it was, It has been two hours?” “Yes here is the money” The man ran off screaming “LESLY!” Kate shouted. “Please open the door” “Sure, but you have to help me finish my homework.” “Deal.” Lesly opened the door and Everyone stormed out, That is accept Kate. “Lesly you saved us!” “Yeah I did, But we better get home! Mom will be back any minute, You’ve been gone all day!” Kate and Lesly ran, Ran as fast as they could until they reached home. They quickly ran upstairs into there room. “Kate what were you thinking?” “What do you mean?” “Why'd you run off like that?” “I had to find Haily, What else was I supposed to do?” “Kate, you really would do anything to save your friends!” “You got that right. Now we gotta get started on your report!” As they started they heard the door slam and the sound of footsteps.
“Mom?” “Yes dear?” “Its you!” There mom walked into there room, Holding a glass pet cage with a little pet barer and wadding on the floor “Mom- You didn't!” “But I did Kate, Hes yours.” She handed her the cage, and a baby hedgehog came out of the roof. “MOM! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! I’m gonna name him... Rhombus!” “Okay honey whatever you want.”
